Bentley Restaurant + Bar

Sydney NSW. View website

The Bentley was opened in March 2006 by Chef Brent Savage and Sommelier Nick Hildebrandt. With the Bentley came a new kind of restaurant for Sydney – one where the food could challenge and inspire you, but in a relaxed atmosphere where you could find an eclectic list of wines not offered anywhere else. 2013 saw the Bentley move from its original home in Surry Hills to a bigger, grander space at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sydney’s CBD. With its majestic façade and contemporary interior designed by award-winning Melbourne architect Pascale Gomes-McNabb, Bentley Restaurant + Bar found the perfect home.

400 Gradi

Essendon VIC. View website

Johnny Di Francesco's latest project is 400 Gradi in Essendon, a 220-seat restaurant on the ground floor of the Mink Apartments, churning out premium Italian wood oven pizzas to the same pedigree of their first site in Brunswick. From those humble beginnings they have blossomed into a pizza empire including their Gradi @ Crown site. There's seating for 50 upstairs, which doubles as a private dining room, and up to 50 seats outside, with the main dining room next to the open kitchen. The Essendon site also features a gelati station as well as wine on tap as the centerpiece of their bar. Source: Good Food

The Craft & Co

Collingwood VIC. View website

How much can you make in house? Well, this unique venue seems to take this question as a challenge. From home-roasted coffee, locally sourced olives and cheese, to home-brewed beer, vodka, gin and grappa, this venue has got it all. As well as a traditional breakfast and lunch service, this is an artisan hub for brewers and makers that allows the public to see them at work in the actual venue. This large-scale space divides itself perfectly between hospitality and retail, with 130 seats for service, as well as a slick retail operation focusing on selling its artisan in house products, on a scale never before seen in Melbourne.
