Last week the Financial Review announced Australia's Top 500 Restaurants for 2016.
This year there are more than 100 new venues who have been added to list, some who have been entertaining and pleasing customers for more than 30 years and others who have opened in the past 6 months, proving once again that Australia is at the forefront of the hospitality scene.
Each restaurant in the Top 500 list is individually contacted and the chef or restaurateur is invited to cast their votes for the 10 top restaurants in order of preference, drawn from the full list. These votes create the 2016 list of Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants.
Terry Durack said that "by showcasing our most talented chefs and passionate restaurateurs in Australia’s Top Restaurants, we’re building an Australian culture of excellence, from the plate up".
